If you’re reading this guide, you’re likely aware of Apple’s tendency to introduce changes with each macOS release. This year, with the launch of macOS Sequoia, there have been significant updates to the Network stack.
As a result, Intel WiFi is no longer functional on macOS Sequoia, including models that were supported in earlier versions.
At the moment, Airportitlwm has not been updated for macOS Sequoia, rendering it completely non-functional. However, itlwm combined with Heliport, which operates using an Ethernet interface, does work on macOS Sequoia.
Itlwm comes with its usual limitations, such as the lack of features like Location and AirDrop. Still, it’s a functional alternative—better than nothing, right? For users prioritizing high-speed and stable internet, itlwm is a solid choice.
STEP 1: Add Required Kext
Download the latest version of itlwm, IntelBluetoothFirmware and BlueToolFixup.
Extract all the downloaded files, Add itlwm.kext, IntelBluetoothFirmware.kext, IntelBTPatcher.kext and BlueToolFixup.kext to your kext and update.
STEP 2: Add Bluetooth Parameter
The next step is to add the required parameters for Bluetooth functionality.
Navigate to ├── NVRAM > Add > 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82
And paste:
<key>bluetoothExternalDongleFailed</key>
<data>AA==</data>
<key>bluetoothInternalControllerInfo</key>
<data>AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA=</data>
STEP 3: Install and Configure Heliport
Download Heliport.dmg HERE
Install after downloading.
To make Heliport launch at each boot, add Heliport to the Login items using Settings > General > Login Items & Extensions.
Now reboot your computer with the updated computer, first reset NVRAM and then boot into macOS and you should have Wifi access.
